Schiavello Group was recently involved in a workplace refurbishment
project in Melbourne CBD that required two previously separate office spaces to
be integrated under a single roof.
The client, one of Australia’s largest financial services providers sought
to unify the two separate workspaces to support the organisation’s goals to encourage
collaboration and communication between staff.
Designed by Graham Nicholas, the office now spans two levels instead of
the original one, with an inter-tenancy stair creating a cohesion and feeling
of connectivity between the two floors. The stair also connects a key breakout
space with a casual meeting space, becoming the social ‘heart’ of the
workplace.
Schiavello Construction took on the responsibilities of construction
management and the role of head contractor during the project, ensuring the
fitout was delivered to the high quality standards specified by Graham
Nicholas.
The inter-tenancy staircase was one of the major construction challenges
during the execution of the project as it was required to be delivered under a
tight timeframe. Schiavello worked closely with all parties to align the
project with varying time constraints, and ensuring the stair was delivered on
time.
Perfect co-ordination between Schiavello and Graham Nicholas also
ensured the project remained on track, with constant communication between the
various teams and a streamlined delivery schedule resulting in a positive outcome
for all stakeholders.
