SBS Group supplied a complete framing package using lightweight TRUECORE steel for a new townhouse project in Elwood, Victoria.

Designed by Cera Stribley architects and built by Coben Constructions, the Pine Ave Townhouse project was a three-storey townhouse development where structural steel was originally specified. SBS Group’s brief was to comply with the design criteria while using minimal structural steel, and deliver on time and on budget.

Through clever design by SBS Group, over 80% of the original structural steel was eliminated from the build. SBS was able to provide a complete framing package with full detailing and engineering, ensuring there were no gaps in the design process. The townhouses were individually braced to achieve the required fire rating and curved walls were integrated to support floor joists.

Steel framing totalling 19,769.39 L/M was used for the wall, floor joist and roof truss. The straight, true and accurate frames were made from lightweight TRUECORE steel for a fast and easy install.
