Louvre windows from Safetyline Jalousie met the requirements of a new outdoor gaming area set up at the Smithfield RSL club in NSW. The design brief sought a space that complied with the relevant smoking laws.
Merlot Constructions, the builder, banked on their considerable club industry experience to recommend louvre windows for this particular application. The builder was confident that louvre windows provided the best solution for achieving the required ventilation for the new smoking and gaming areas.
Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows were selected based on their automation features and the ability to integrate with the Club’s Building Management System (BMS). One particular feature of Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows that appealed to the builder was the streamlined design of the automation functionality, given how alternative options in a similar price bracket required unsightly and bulky motors to be retrofitted.
An additional influencing factor was the security delivered by Safetyline Jalousie’s louvre windows with the metal bar along the top of each louvre blade delivering excellent security without risk of breakage. The builder was also impressed with the sturdiness of the manual hardened steel operating mechanisms compared to the plastic options in the market.
A final feature that influenced the decision to use Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows was the additional width gained for each window bank. With spans of 1350mm (maximum span available is 1400mm), the outlook for the Club patrons was significantly enhanced by the reduction of vertical mullions required for narrower window options.
Safetyline Jalousie supplied 70 louvre windows, each with 26 blades and measuring 3574mm H x 1350mm W. The windows had a bronze anodised finish and the louvres were made from 6mm clear toughened glass.
