Louvre windows from Safetyline Jalousie were specified for a new Meriton mixed use development located in the busy hub of Mascot, NSW.

Designed by award-winning architects Turner & Associates, Kiara North by Meriton is an elegant three-tower, 13-level development featuring 560 Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows. The louvres were incorporated into the design to enclose the lower balconies of the towers, enabling residents to create a garden space, or use the enclosed area as an additional room or a private outdoor space.

Safetyline Jalousie louvres provide up to 86% free air when open, allowing natural cross-flow ventilation; the amount of airflow can easily be adjusted by opening the louvres at different angles.

When closed, Safetyline Jalousie louvres have an airtight seal with an infiltration of just 0.12 L/Sqm/S. This performance rating is 12 times better than similar products, ensuring that heat or energy is not lost during cooler weather.

Safetyline Jalousie louvres also help reduce noise, an important consideration for comfort, relaxation and peace of mind in suburban living. The architect specified the Safetyline Jalousie system with 6mm toughened glazing to achieve an impressive weighted sound reduction of 33Rw.

Meriton is one of Australia’s largest developers, having built, sold and leased over 75,000 apartments, all synonymous with quality and luxury. Safetyline Jalousie was excited to be a part of the Kiara development, providing the ideal ventilation solution that delivered on aesthetics, functionality, weather protection and noise reduction.

Safetyline Jalousie supplied 560 louvre windows, each measuring 1414mm height x 970mm width in a Zeus Timberland Satin finish, featuring 6mm grey toughened glass louvres and standard lever operation.
