Various products from Rondo were specified by architecture firm Bates Smart for the $300 million Crown Metropol hotel in Melbourne.
Located at Crown Complex, Southbank, Melbourne, Crown Metropol is a new 27-level hotel featuring a unique wave-like shape, and 658 rooms designed with plenty of space and natural light. Level 27 of the hotel houses a spa, pool and world-class gymnasium, providing Melbourne’s first and only sky-high spa, relaxation and rejuvenation floor.
Rondo products used in the hotel project included KEY-LOCK suspended ceiling system, DUO exposed grid ceiling systems, EXANGLE finishing sections, and steel stud drywall framing system.
Rondo worked with the site contractor, Expoconti to supply products, provide design work, and conduct weekly site inspections. Rondo’s technical assistance allowed for the designs to be simplified, ensuring a more cost-effective execution.
