A striking contemporary facade built using the brick inlay system from Robertson Facade Systems has added an attractive element to the car park at the Knox Private Hospital development in East Melbourne.
The car park on Boronia Road, Wantirna was extended as part of the $180 million upgrade to the Knox Private Hospital, providing 350 additional parking spots. Knox is now the second largest private hospital in Victoria.
The brick inlay system from Robertson Facade Systems provided a simple and cost-efficient construction solution to the builder, Watpac when creating the striking facade to the car park facing Boronia Road. The facade for the structural concrete walls of the car park was built using Blue Grey and Pressed Red brick facing tiles.
Melbourne architects Woods Bagot chose the thin brick tiles as they not only resemble standard bricks in size, but also beautifully complement each other with their contrasting rich, earthy colours.
