Remedy Asset Protection was engaged by Kane Constructions to provide inspection and verification of the coating application on steel frames during the construction of a new home in Portsea, Victoria.

The mild steel portal frames of the residence were prefinished in a blast yard with the final coating application using Dulux Protective Coatings occurring over three months onsite during different stages of erection.

Remedy ensured that the inspections were carried out as per schedule while also providing the site staff with practical solutions whenever they faced a problem. Having previously worked only in commercial construction and architectural projects, the site workers were unfamiliar with the requirements of industrial protective coatings.

The Remedy team was equipped to educate the fabricators and site staff to meet the specified standards.

By engaging Remedy for the project, Kane Constructions was able to provide a value added service to their client, which ensured the coatings applied onto the steel structure met the specified standards.
