polytec MATERA stone prints combine a super matt finish with the cool appearance of honed stone - marble, travertine and cement – and an element of surprise, being warm to touch.

Available in BENCHTOPS and laminate, MATERA is designed to mix and match within its own range and together with WOODMATT, to give designers and specifiers 24 exciting additional colours and 2 finishes in the core polytec laminate and melamine ranges.

polytec wanted to create a collection of beautiful quality stone prints to work with the recent launch of WOODMATT embossed matt timber prints collection.

Where trends are headed

Timber and stone being specified together is where we see trends headed for many design environments - from breakout areas in a commercial office space to residential kitchens and bathrooms.

Manufacturing innovation

Use of an additional process to manufacture the laminate - that is unique in Australia – gives MATERA a colour sensitivity and pattern effect that closely resembles the look and feel of honed stone. The advanced qualities of MATERA’s durable, super matt finish offers superior abrasion resistance and ease of cleaning.

Made for the Australian market

MATERA has been manufactured in line with the A+D industry’s preference for working in modules of 300mm sheet sizes. For clients this means reduced costs, less waste and enhanced mix and match capabilities with products across ranges in the polytec collection.

MATERA’s stone patterns and hues have been designed to specifically suit commercial and residential applications in the Australian market.

The selection of whites, greys and warm greys through to blacks caters for those who prefer more of a yellow base through to those who prefer more of a pink base and similarly there are different levels of veining.

Specification

MATERA is available in both laminate and board for use on horizontal or vertical surfaces – joinery, walls and benchtops.

The larger veined patterns of white marble style Calcutta D’oro and Calacutta Grey could be specified as a striking hero statement on an island bench or reception area and teamed with a more subdued grains.

Or for an on-trend, refined cement aesthetic, there is the travertine-style Tunisia Stone and Navona Stone, which feature a slight diagonal grain or the less-veined, pink toned Portland Stone, Grey Cement and Dark Cement through to the warm black of Athena Stone.

polytec’s development of WOODMATT and MATERA takes “that next step in advancing laminates and melamines – to offer a visually attractive, quality, and budget-friendly, core laminate option, when a stone or timber look is desired.”
