Leading Australian brick maker, PGH Bricks & Pavers introduces the Masters Collection, one of four new brick collections launched in the Australian market in 2010.

Face bricks remain a popular choice of building materials in new homes and renovations for reasons including sustainability, durability and thermal mass.

The four new brick collections introduced by PGH however, raise the bar on the versatility of bricks, especially in their ability to create stylish facades on homes.

The new Masters Collection of bricks celebrates the art of traditional brick making with a modern twist.

Sandstock bricks are one of the original types of hand crafted bricks that create an enduring legacy of timelessness and beauty in Australian architecture, and have remained unchanged in spite of changing trends in various decorative features.

Sandstock bricks also have a high functional value as they offer better insulation for homes from the noises and temperatures of Australia’s environment. Similar to any fired product, the colour of these bricks is baked right through the product ensuring its durability against the elements.

The new Masters Collection retains the unique texture of sandstock bricks while reshaping the bricks in a squarer form. The heavy fritting on the surface of the brick has been replaced with a more monochromic finish to the end colour.

The Masters Collection is named after some of the world’s most celebrated artists and includes Da Vinci, Monet, Picasso, Renoir and Van Gogh.

Group Marketing Manager for PGH Bricks & Pavers, Michelle Gissel comments that the new Masters Collection has been positively received in the market with building designers incorporating the bricks into the façade of their display homes.

Michelle adds that the Masters Collection is helping building designers create a unique, stylish, enduring and timeless look for their facades while projecting a fresh appeal at a cost far less than that of cost of render or stack-stone products.
