Metalcorp NZ, located in Christchurch has taken delivery of a new Sennebogen 825M D series materials handling machine complete with:

  • 13 metre reach
  • Hydraulic Elevating cabin
  • Factory fitted Genset
  • Factory supplied Magnet
  • SMAG 0.6m 360 degree rotating orange peel grab

One of the key factors in Metalcorp purchasing the Sennebogen 825M D series materials handling machine from Pacific Materials Handling was the ability to purchase the complete machine and attachments from Pacific Materials Handling and have the machine commissioned and operating within 1 hour of delivery on site.

The Sennebogen 825M D series materials handling machine is serial number #13 and the superstitious might have wondered if it was ever meant to be given the headaches and stress surrounding getting the machine to New Zealand.

First the shipping vessel the machine was on board was delayed in Europe by 2 weeks due to severe storms, then the same vessel was delayed further again off the coast of NSW with more severe storms. This meant that in theory the machine would miss its booked space on the trans shipment from Melbourne to New Zealand.

However, due to some heavy Melbourne fog and pure luck, the vessel destined for NZ docked into Melbourne later than expected and after many phone calls to wharf shift supervisors by PMH staff and Pacific materials handling’s freight forwarders DSV in the wee hours of a Friday night the Sennebogen 825M D series materials handling machine did eventually make it on board the vessel for NZ in time

The Sennebogen 825M D series materials handling machine is now deployed in Metalcorp NZ's yard and performing well, having productivity by at least 100%.

The Sennebogen 825m machine was also a large part of the recent NZ Scrap Metal Association's annual conference, with all NZ Scrap Metal companies having the opportunity to see the Sennebogen 825M in work, which was well received.
