ModWood Technologies  has developed a range of environmentally friendly, low maintenance, wood composite decking boards, which are made from recycled plastic and non-virgin pine products.

ModWood Technologies Market Development Manager, Mr James Grandison said that ModWood is committed to conserving the Australian environment, and developing products that are environmentally friendly. Around 90 per cent of the material content of ModWood decking boards is either recycled or reclaimed.

“Each lineal metre of ModWood decking board contains approximately 37 recycled plastic milk bottles and around two kilograms of reclaimed pine dust (137 x 23mm board),” he said.

ModWood decking boards are suitable for ecologically sensitive areas because they contain no chemicals that could leach out. The plantation grown pine dust used within Modwood decking boards is a by-product of timber milling. By using this, native forest timbers are conserved, and global warming and habitat degradation is reduced.

The range of ModWood decking boards is stylish, safe and durable, and includes a wide solid board (137mm); solid board (88mm); a heavy duty (137x32mm) marina board; and a mini board (68x17mm), which is ideal for screening purposes.

Clients seeking a low maintenance product will benefit greatly from ModWood decking boards. No painting, staining or oiling is required, they are resistant to termites and insects, and will not split, rot or warp.

ModWood decking boards are Australian-owned and manufactured, and are available in three colours - Black Bean, Jarrah and Silver Gum. ModWood decking boards are supplied with a seven year guarantee for commercial applications.
