Balustrades and disability handrails from Moddex were used to create a DDA compliant access path at the Port Hedland Youth Space in WA.

Measuring 3300 square metres, the Port Hedland Youth Space is now the largest skate park in Australia. Created as part of the revitalisation of the Port Hedland CBD, it is truly a world class facility for the community of Port Hedland.

A central DDA compliant access path at the Port Hedland Youth Space invites users and visitors to explore spaces. Moddex supplied various configurations of Conectabal balustrades and Assistrail disability handrails carefully designed to maximise access and help prevent injuries or falls from retaining walls and elevated areas.

All the products supplied by Moddex to the client, Convic are compliant with AS 1428:2009/NCC and have been load tested and certified to the relevant AS 1170 requirements. Conectabal balustrades provide park users with long-lasting and highly durable protection.

Moddex pre-designed the complete package in sections, before delivering the products to the project site for simple installation by Convic.
