MiTek Australia ’s 20/20 timber engineering software programme helps architects, builders and home owners to realise their dreams. Owner/builder, Carlos Figueria’s dream home was so complex that both the architect and the engineer were at a loss to come up with a workable solution. This 65sqm, 6-bedroom home was to be built on the side of a steep-sloped hill overlooking Lake Illawarra, south of Wollongong.
The 6-bedroom home included, multiple levels plus a large garage underneath and a feature ‘rake’ ceiling. What at first seemed impossible to engineer became possible with the powerful MiTek 20/20 programme.
The fully rotating 3D design feature of the MiTek 20/20 programme shows how all the elements would come together on-site. Without 20/20, the job never would have got off the ground.
