Magnetite Retrofit Double Glazing recently completed a large retrofit at Melbourne’s prestigious Citiclub building in Melbourne’s CBD. The installation was partially funded through a scheme called the Australian environmental upgrade fund. The fund provides financial support for the retrofit commercial business attempting to achieve substantial energy savings.

The installation, completed by Magnetite’s Melbourne franchise, used double glazing to help to improve the insulation of the building’s façade and was applied to the hotel section of the building.

Robert Campbell of Magnetite Melbourne explained that “Magnetite’s retrofit system is designed to improve the glazing’s energy performance which in turn improves the NABERS rating.”

The retrofit of the former headquarters of the RACV Club hopes to improve the energy saving potential of the building by twenty seven per cent, increasing  the NABERS rating from 2 ½ stars to 4 - 4 ½ stars.

Green retrofitting offered by Magnetite is affordable and provides a superb solution toward a low carbon future. The installations also offer a service that fits ideally with the federal government scheme to provide cheaper loans to fund the environmental upgrade of commercial buildings.

This green retrofit of the Citiclub is just one of the growing numbers of commercial building green projects that Magnetite is taking part in. Magnetite proudly supports a low carbon Australia.
