Lysaght introduces a highly efficient, aesthetically pleasing and extremely cost-effective solution for the flashing of roof penetrations on long run roofing projects. The patented Pop Up Penetration system, which is exclusively distributed by Lysaght, features an optimised flashing design that has been engineered to ensure even distribution of water in front of roof penetrations, helping maximise the water carrying capacity and run-off efficiency. Traditional dry pan flashing redirects water to adjacent pans, exceeding roof sheet pan capacity.

Featuring a clever design, the Pop Up Penetration system easily accommodates multiple roof penetrations by ensuring each penetration redirects its own water correctly without affecting the overall roof run performance. This not only increases efficiency dramatically, but also reduces costs impressively with the roofer achieving labour savings of up to 50 per cent as well as greater material efficiency through reduced flashing requirement.

According to Lysaght’s National Manager - Innovation and Marketing, Matt Lloyde, the Pop Up Penetration system was designed by professional roofers who were aware of the importance of reducing time on site and increasing ease of installation, and kept these two factors as core considerations during the design process.

He explains that the system comes in five modular kit sizes to accommodate penetrations from 100mm up to 3300mm, with up to 650mm of variation in each kit. This allows for easier placement of penetrations on site and accommodates numerous roofing profiles.

Matt adds that the convenient kit allows roofers to install the system during the roofing process, or utilise existing roof sheeting in retrofit applications, thereby providing significant savings through reduced deliveries, labour and material handling on site and also saving on component costs, compared to dry pan flashing.

The Pop Up Penetration system has been rigorously tested and is available in a range of finishes and colours to suit any roof and architecture. Manufactured using genuine COLORBOND steel – COLORBOND Ultra steel, COLORBOND Metallic steel, COLORBOND Coolmax steel and ZINCALUME steel from BlueScope, the design has been engineered and independently certified, and is endorsed by Lysaght for use with its products.

Additionally, the new Roof Flow Pro App is a free, simple-to-use app available for both Apple and Android devices, developed to help roofers and designers readily determine the impact of roof penetrations on the rainwater carrying capacity of a roof, increasing the convenience of working with the Pop Up Penetration system.
