Lite Steel Beam (LSB) has recently shown its versatility in a new six story residential complex in South Brisbane.

Lite Steel Beam was able to show the client how to reduce the total length of rafters required by taking the advantage of Lite Steel Beams capacity to increase the spacing between the rafters.

In reducing the total length in rafters during the project to 850 meters, it became much more cost effective to the client. Additional benefits include the ease of handling longer spans, and the ability to weld connections on site also contributed to a reduction of the cost.

Using Lite Steel Beam on this project also eliminated the risk of timber product swelling and deterioration in prolonged wet weather conditions prior to completion of the roof structure.

Overall, this project supported the Smorgon Steel belief that builders who choose to use Lite Steel Beams can reduce their total installed costs of construction.
