Feng Shui is “the ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to use the laws of both Heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive qi,” according to wikipedia.

Leda Security Products recently had their bollards incorporated into Brisbane’s China Town mall through Hiroshi Uchida from URBIS Architects.

Vehicular traffic had been using the mall as a thoroughfare, causing serious safety concerns for pedestrians. Brisbane City Council stipulated that not only should the ground sleeve look good, it should also not potentially become a tripping hazard. Leda’s SHCP80 offered an ideal solution, and the stainless steel hinged sleeve with stainless cap was selected. This sleeve was used with Leda’s Commodore bollards and was painted in a striking “Red Pantone” colour.

Feng Shui was achieved by having 5 bollards at the northern end of the mall and 3 bollards at the southern. The mall is now a beautiful thoroughfare for the people of Brisbane.

Installation of the bollards was completed for the opening of the mall by Brisbane’s mayor Graham Quirk for the first tour of the city.

More information on Commodore bollards is available from Leda Security Products.
