The challenge for LED Lighting was to custom manufacture a vertically mounted architectural linear LED lighting luminaries as specified by Architects.
The luminaries were required to contain high output colour changing RGB LED’s and for it to be interfaced with and controllable via Dynalite.
The Design Solution implemented by LED Lighting
Optic Fibre along with LED Lighting successfully manufactured and anodised a 100mm x 60mm aluminum extrusion. Within the extrusion colour changing RGB SMD LED ribbon was incorporated as the primary and only source of light.
Opal acrylic was used as the diffusing agent for the luminaries, which produced the perfect transparency. It was also important that the luminaries were easy to clean as well as robust.
Lift call feature
Several of the vertical architectural linear strips, mounted adjacent to each lift door, were modified and the LED lighting was split into two sections within in each strip. This ensured that the lift company could control these strips independently for up and down lift calls.
Fourteen of the 176 LED strips had the ability to change colour when the lift was called and as the lift arrived indicated that the lift was present.
The space has a contemporary architectural feel and is aesthetically pleasing and the lighting feature is striking when entering the space.
