Several products from Landmark Products were selected for installation during the rebuilding of the Cardwell coastline devastated by the 2011 Cyclone Yasi.

The cyclone hit the coastal town of Cardwell in 2011 leaving the magnificent scenic shoreline and Bruce Highway in ruins. In true ‘Queenslander’ style, the community and council banded together to completely rebuild the foreshore into a magnificent public asset.

With a budget of approximately $40 million (derived from both federal and state relief funding), the repairs and upgrades to the 4km stretch of coastline were recently opened by Cassowary Coast Mayor Bill Shannon, North Queensland Senator Ian Macdonald, Federal Member for Kennedy Bob Katter and Hinchinbrook MP Andrew Cripps.

Standard and custom built products from Landmark Products were selected by landscape architects for use in the new development. Aluminium park shelters, Santa & Cole aluminium park seating including Neoliviano seats and Neobanqueta benches, aluminium San Remo picnic settings and a custom restroom were some of the products installed in the rebuild project.

The aluminium range and stainless steel options provide extreme resistance to corrosion from the harsh salty breeze in the coastal environment, ensuring long-term durability.
