Knauf Insulation has released its latest sustainability report showcasing the company’s product innovations and sustainability achievements.

According to Knauf Insulation CEO Tony Robson, the industry is demanding fully integrated solutions that save time and energy and deliver high performance.

Designed to tackle some of the industry’s biggest insulation challenges, Knauf Insulation’s innovative products include Kventi, a revolutionary system that reduces by half, the time taken to install a new, fully insulated roof; JetSpray, a blowing wool that efficiently insulates hard-to-reach areas such as crawl spaces or basements; and Mineral Plus, a flexible lightweight alternative to Rock Mineral Wool that cuts easily and fits comfortably into awkward cavity spaces.

Some of the company’s sustainability achievements since the baseline year of 2010 include cutting energy use by 15.3%; and reducing waste to landfill by 48.8%; lost time accidents by 24%; and CO2 emissions by 13.7%.

The sustainability report also focusses on Knauf Insulation’s efforts to provide specifiers with what they need, from faster Environmental Product Declarations and online environmental product performance tools to downloadable Green Building rating system factsheets showing how to get maximum points with Knauf Insulation’s solutions.

A report on the tougher regulations being introduced by several countries to make their buildings more fire-safe underlines the need for more governments to follow their example. A detailed analysis of the need for better fire tests for construction materials is also included in the report.
