Kingspan Insulation has introduced a new range of insulation boards designed to save time and money by simplifying installation.
The new Kooltherm K10 white soffit board from Kingspan Insulation, Australia’s premium insulation manufacturer and supplier for the building industry, is not only a high performance thermal insulation barrier but also saves time and cost for building owners, thanks to its ease of installation as well as an attractive white finish that eliminates the extra cost of painting.
A rigid white-faced phenolic insulation board designed to insulate concrete ceilings and suspended concrete slabs, Kingspan Kooltherm K10 white soffit boards are especially recommended for carparks, where the boards are used to clad the exposed concrete and provide an attractive, thermally efficient, protective barrier between levels.
Kingspan Kooltherm K10 white soffit boards also deliver premium fire protection with a Group 1 fire performance classification in accordance with AS ISO 9705 testing methodologies as outlined in the National Construction Code (NCC). The white surface area eliminates the need for painting, which may otherwise affect the fire performance of the substrate.
Kingspan Insulation’s Technical and R&D Manager Keith Anderson explains that Kooltherm K10 soffit boards are the only rigid soffit insulation products in Australia with CodeMark certification, which includes a certified classification as a Group 1 material.
The Kingspan Kooltherm K10 is manufactured by assembling the board with a white aluminium face on the exposed side of the board, a tissue-based surface on the reverse side and Kooltherm’s famous closed cell phenolic insulation core sandwiched between the two faces in a range of thicknesses (25mm-90mm) to suit different thermal requirements.
The white aluminium face eliminates the need for painting or touch-ups while also ensuring long-lasting fire protection. When used in enclosed carparks, Kingspan Kooltherm K10 white soffit boards provide instant insulation efficiencies and also serve to brighten up the space, improving overall safety.
Mr Anderson adds that the slim profiles of Kingspan Kooltherm K10 white soffit boards offer superior space efficiency, making them perfectly suited to low-height applications, maximising overhead vehicle clearance and projecting a sense of spaciousness.
Kooltherm K10 white soffit boards come with excellent environmental credentials with no CFCs or HCFCs used in production; the boards also have an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero.
