Kennards Hire has entered the New Zealand market by acquiring the business of McEntee Hire.
Its first expansion outside Australia, the acquisition gives Kennards nine equipment hire centres in Auckland, bringing the total branch network to 138. The New Zealand branch network will benefit from Kennards’ investment in a wider range of equipment to be made available to contractors, tradesmen, businesses and home improvers.
McEntee Hire owner Bill McEntee is happy to have sold his business to another family-owned company that shares the same core values of customer service. The existing McEntee Hire staff has been retained at the branches.
According to General Manager of Kennards Hire New Zealand, Tom Kinross, McEntee Hire is highly respected in the industry, and has very loyal customers. Kennards Hire will be putting in extra effort to maintain the rapport while expanding the range and depth of equipment and introducing systems that will deliver great customer service.
Welcoming the new employees, Andy Kennard, whose father started the business 64 years ago, said that his family was proud to be able to continue McEntee Hire’s work within a family business framework.
Kennards CEO Allen Besseling said there would be benefits for both new and existing customers.
