Kennards Hire Chairman, Peter Lancken was honoured with an American Rental Association Award for Service to the Industry on an International Level.

One of the highest accolades in the equipment rental industry, the Distinguished Service Award is given to one person each year that has excelled in their position. Presented at the American Rental Association Show in February 2014, the award recognised Lancken’s more than 35 years of service in the rental industry and his role in initiating the Global Rental Alliance.

Uniting major rental associations across the world, the Global Rental Alliance was started to raise the profile of equipment rental worldwide while increasing the membership value of the respective associations. Today, members of the Global Rental Alliance include Brazil, New Zealand, Belgium, USA, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Peter Lancken is the first person outside of the USA to receive the ARA Award - a strong testament to the growing influence of Kennards Hire on an international scale. Upon accepting the award, Lancken acknowledged the continual hard work of the Kennards Hire team to grow both the company and the industry as a whole.

Lancken described the award as an honour not only for him at an individual level but also for Kennards Hire as a company.

Lancken has been with Kennards Hire for two decades, chairing the board for the last two and half years. Prior to that he was CEO for 14 years and has been at the core of Kennards Hire’s growth from a small business operating out of 20 locations to its current network of over 140 branches across Australia and New Zealand.

The American Rental Association (ARA) is the international trade association for the equipment rental industry. The ARA Show is an annual event held in the USA for equipment rental companies to feature their equipment and engage in industry-specific seminars and networking.
