Kennards Hire  supplied a four tonne articulated compact tandem roller to profile a new, award-winning golf driving range built on a former rubbish tip site.

Designed and managed by DB & HE Building Services, the $5 million Thornleigh Golf Centre in Sydney’s north features a two-storey building housing 56 undercover driving bays.

The driving range also features eight greens to make practice more realistic with the range carefully profiled to enable balls to automatically roll into an underground return system, which also doubles up for stormwater duties.

David Jones of DB & HE Building Services found the roller to be ideal for the profiling because of its size, manoeuvrability and compaction performance. Operator Greg Arundale confirmed the ease of operation and comfort factor.

Kennards Hire’s compaction fleet includes ride-on rollers from 1.5 tonne up to 25 tonne as well as remote-controlled padfoot trench rollers, remote-controlled compactors, pedestrian rollers, reversible plate compactors and rammers.

Kennards Hire operates 128 hire centres, covering all states and territories.
