Specialist equipment hire company Kennards Lift & Shift has supplied a small lifting device to Hansen Yuncken’s $41-million Adelaide Film & Screen Centre project.

The 240-volt, hydraulic powered wheelie bin lifter is designed to empty 120-litre and 250-litre bins directly into a truck or skip.

David Lynch, safety manager on the Hansen Yuncken site said that they found it easier and quicker to dispose of rubbish in wheelie bins close to where work was taking place, rather than continually having to take it to a skip positioned some distance away.

Kennards’ wheelie bin lifters simplify the process of emptying full bins into a skip.

The company had earlier used forklifts to empty 2m³ waste bins, but they were not suitable for rough ground.

The Adelaide Film & Screen Centre work is one of two projects with a total value of more than $150 million being undertaken by Hansen Yuncken in the Glenside Hospital precinct.

Kennards Lift & Shift operates hire centres in Brisbane, Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
