25 forklift work platforms hired from Kennards Lift & Shift were used to reduce the time taken to complete a biannual stocktake at a Big W distribution warehouse. The forklift work platforms are specifically designed for mounting on the elevating device of a high lift fork truck, and are ideal for a range of short duration jobs, including maintenance such as changing light globes and cleaning windows.

All 330 staff at the 75,000 square metres Big W distribution centre at Monarto in Adelaide took part in the mid-2009 stocktake.

Maintenance manager Neil Henschke said the 24-hour operation normally took more than two days to complete, but with the help of forklift work platforms from Kennards, on this occasion it was finished in about one and half days.

Kennards Lift & Shift forklift platforms have a safe working load (SWL) of 250kg and are manufactured in accordance with AS 2359.1.

Kennards Lift & Shift forklift platforms are fully welded, weigh 115kg and internally, are 1.2m long, one metre wide and 1.9m high. They also have harness anchor points and are supplied with slipper locking pins.

Kennards Lift & Shift hires a wide range of rigging and materials handling equipment from outlets in Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
