Building Innovations  has developed a new system for the construction of concrete pavements called the joint free slabs systems. This innovative method minimises times, cost and effort required to lay concrete slabs.

Traditional slabs on grade consisted of control joints that were required to control and reduce concrete shrinkage. This is eliminated with the use of the joint free slabs system from Building Innovations.

The crack inducer grid from Building Innovations is one metre in length. It consists of plastic tubes and four way junctions. The tubes are made to fit perfectly into the junctions while installation takes place on-site. The two sizes of crack inducer grids from Building Innovations are 30mm and 38mm. A light mesh is required to be placed on top of the grid. The cracks produced by the crack inducer grid must be very fine. 0.3mm to 0.5mm are the acceptable sizes.

This patented system of slab construction from Building Innovations is highly popular in Australia, New Zealand, Croatia and the United Arab Emirates.

Building Innovations has also received an Award for Excellence from the Concrete Institute of Australia for its joint free slabs system which has received world wide appreciation.
