ExoTec façade panels from James Hardie Australia were specified to provide a visually striking finish to the Gateway Plaza in Leopold during its redevelopment.

The $42 million makeover of the retail plaza located at the gateway to the Bellarine Peninsula draws inspiration from its coastal context to shape a new identity for the centre. Featuring a high impact contemporary design, the vibrant community precinct comprises of a series of cafes and restaurants in addition to a new village square with integrated children’s play area.

Since the Plaza was functioning throughout the redevelopment, it was important to specify high quality, customisable materials that could be easily installed to minimise impact on operations.

James Hardie’s ExoTec façade panel and fixing system was selected for its ease of installation as well as its ability to provide a stunning finish. The versatile express panel system was applied in a vertical pattern to create a strong visual impact.

ExoTec cladding met the budget, quality and time objectives of the project while providing the assurance of longevity due to its durability, impact resistance and easy maintenance.
