AkzoNobel Powder Coatings  are leading the way in eliminating substances of concern from powder coatings by ensuring they manufacture coatings that are completely free of toxic lead pigments.

With TGIC-free technology, also known as triglycidyl isocyanurate, a cross linker used as a curing agent in powder coatings, AkzoNobel is able to produce powder coatings that are not only environmentally friendly, but that also have many environmental benefits.

Powder coatings from AkzoNobel are similar to other coatings in that they are made up of raw materials, however AkzoNobel powder coatings so not have the organic solvents that other coatings do. As a result there is no release of volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere during application of AkzoNobel powder coatings. Also, as there is now solvent required with powder coatings, there is a reduction of fire risk during both handling and storage.

Powder coatings are applied using unique methods that allow a one coat process, and that ensures excess powder is collected for reuse.
