Abstract submissions are now open for the 10th International Urban Design Conference scheduled to take place at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, Gold Coast, Queensland this November.

Themed ‘Disruption, Divergence and Designed Intervention – Making Change Happen’ the 10th International Urban Design Conference will showcase innovations and projects embracing and creating transformational change in urban environments. The conference will explore and discuss a whole range of subjects from high impact ideas and the new Eco-city to technological experimentation, multicultural cities and use of big data to physical city making.

Individuals and organisations are invited to submit an abstract for delivering an oral presentation, panel presentation or poster presentation addressing one or more of the conference topics. In no more than 300 words, the abstract should outline the aims, contents and conclusions of the presentation. Abstracts close on Monday, 31 July 2017.

The topics for this year’s conference are: City making and disruption; Community advocacy; Creating equitable cities; Diversity in the ecology of technology; Design and climate change; Population growth, densification, renewal, innovation and urban regeneration; Urban Design Policy; "The Missing Middle" - how to transform suburbia; Risk and resilience; The future of work, urban impact; Transport and traffic; Satellite cities; Planning, functional design; and Public space transformation.

The 10th International Urban Design Conference will be held on 13-14 November 2017.
