Internal motorised roller blinds by Helioscreen Australia and New Zealand were installed at the newly completed CMI Toyota showroom in West Terrace, Adelaide.

The building design aimed to maximise the display so that every new vehicle available in the Toyota range was visible. One of the most striking elements of the design is the showroom and service area with a ceiling height of over 7.5 metres. Facing onto West Terrace, this façade features 25mm thick glass panels measuring 7m H x 2m W.

The sheer size of the glazed area required a specialist shading solution with the showroom and service area requiring 42 blinds featuring a drop of 7.6 metres.

Helioscreen supplied over 180 automated blinds for the project utilising Somfy motors, 100mm tubes and high load brackets with roller bearings specially fabricated for these large blinds. Motors are easily operated via remote control, giving total control over the building’s façades.

Key features of Helioscreen motorised roller blinds:

  • Available in a wide range of European sun control fabrics
  • Maximum widths of up to 5.4 metres in a single span and linkable in widths up to 15 metres
  • Highly versatile shading solutions
  • Motors allow remote control operation
Helioscreen can tailor automated sun control systems as the perfect shading solution to meet modern design as well as green building requirements.
