A rich materials palette, which included a warm engineered timber floor from Havwoods, helped the designers meet the client’s brief for the transformation of the Air Canada Signature Club at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena.
The Air Canada Signature Club offers the ultimate in luxurious experience to its members and their guests. Located in a private zone behind the arena seating, the VIP lounge is an 8,800-square-feet space specially designed for unrivalled entertaining within a premium, private environment.
Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment engaged DesignAgency to reimagine the space and transform it into a premium retreat where members could enjoy a hospitality experience that extended well beyond the game.
DesignAgency was also tasked with creating a range of dining experiences in the new lounge, maximising the design opportunity in the space’s linear dimensions and varying ceiling heights. The brief also sought to create a variety of spaces that encouraged opportunities for socialising as well as ensured privacy when required.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere defined by richly coloured materials, soft ambient lighting and signature Canadian art provides an immersive experience to guests. The new central bar and lounge area project an aura of plush hospitality, where thoughtfully curated spaces, sensuous materials and beautiful lighting form the backdrop for premium culinary excellence.
The lounge transitions into the dining area where the refined atmosphere continues with sparkling brass accents and details, walnut tabletops and Havwoods’ warm wood Versailles Antique panel flooring as well as fluted glass privacy screens, plush, dove-grey leather chairs and curved booths upholstered in tufted burgundy leather.
A central wine display corridor, which functions as a second entrance, is defined by smoked glass, warm brass and walnut detailing to continue the immersive experience for guests.
The Air Canada Signature Club also features a series of private dining rooms, fully wood panelled with art displays and custom lighting to complete the luxe experience for guests who seek to entertain in their own inner sanctum.
