Ultra-Base 60, a base coat from CSR Gyprock has recently been added to their growing list of Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) certified products.

Formulated to meet all the criteria of the Adhesives, Fillers and Sealants standard, Ultra-Base 60 is a lightweight base coat used as the first and second coat in a three-coat plasterboard jointing system. Once the base coats are applied, the joints may be finished with any Gyprock topping or all-purpose compound and sanded smooth prior to decoration. Gyprock base coats help create strong joints in conjunction with jointing tape and provide excellent tape adhesion.

Manufactured by Gyprock in Australia to stringent product specifications, Ultra-Base 60 base coat is a low VOC dry powder compound with setting characteristics instead of evaporative drying properties. It has a defined working life of approximately 60 minutes after mixing, allowing subsequent coating on the same day.

In addition to its GECA certification, the Ultra-Base 60 compound has been officially endorsed by the National Asthma Council Australia's Sensitive Choice program for its superior mould resistant properties that prevent allergies and present a better choice for asthma, eczema and allergy sufferers.
