Sydney-siders can look forward to the best of design at the 2017 Good Design Festival next month along with front row seats to the world famous Vivid Sydney light show. The Good Design Festival showcases outstanding work in product and industrial design, architectural design, digital and communication design, design strategy, service design and social innovation.

Celebrating excellence in design and innovation, the Good Design Festival kicks off on Thursday 8 June at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney with the Good Design Awards Ceremony and Official After Party. The Good Design Showcase will open to the public on Friday 9 June, running for an extended three days over the long weekend and showcasing this year's award-winning products and projects.

Good Design Exchange Talks

The Good Design Exchange Talks on 9 and 10 June will feature Australian and international thought leaders who will share their inspiring stories about design. Presented by Good Design Australia in partnership with General Assembly, the Authentic Design Alliance and Factory Design District, the Good Design Exchange Talks provide a unique opportunity to connect with the design community and learn from some of the best in the business.

Good Design Selection Winners

The 2017 Good Design Awards has recognised 255 projects with the Good Design Selection accolade. Good Design Award and Best in Category winners will be announced live on stage at the 2017 Good Design Awards Ceremony on 8 June.

2017 Young Australian Design Awards

The 2017 Good Design Festival will once again honour young and emerging designers with the Young Australian Design Awards, recognising the work of some of the best and brightest design students in the country. The winners will be announced at the 2017 Good Design Awards Ceremony on 8 June at the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) in Sydney.

Inside the Minds of Brilliant Designers: 10th May, Melbourne

Good Design Australia has also partnered with General Assembly to organise this inspiring panel event series, which invites key players from Melbourne’s design community to offer a rare insider’s look at how they work.

The panellists will discuss how they approach projects from a design point of view, how design thinking methods can help with problem-solving and much more as they cover a range of subjects from branding and user experience to city planning.

The event will take place on Wednesday 10 May, 6-8pm at General Assembly Melbourne.
