A custom carpet in a striking bold pattern from GH Commercial was manufactured for a stylish event venue in Melbourne to complement the high-end finishes used for the stunning interiors.
Situated on the top level of Southgate Melbourne on the banks of the Yarra River, Metropolis Events is a unique events venue that exudes a luxurious and sophisticated vibe. From its New York loft style space, the venue offers stunning views of the Melbourne skyline as well as iconic landmarks including Flinders Street Station, Federation Square and Princess Bridge.
The 17-metre internal dome ceiling, 9-metre high windows and an all-weather outdoor terrace make this venue one of Melbourne’s most premium event spaces.
Design studio Two Design sought a luxe carpet to complement the high-end interior finishes used at Metropolis Events as well as impress clients upon entry. The spectacular colour palette of dark chocolate, gold and cream combines with the striking bold pattern to create a stunning custom carpet for the venue. The carpet was produced using Godfrey Hirst’s unique Designer Jet technology, meeting all the creative requirements of the brief.
The building with its subtle Art Deco influences has inspired the design of the venue, which features a subtle palette of brass, charcoal and taupe accompanied by luxurious teal finishes and mirrored surfaces. The carpet design reflects the overall vibe of this beautiful function space while paying homage to the building's heritage.
