Flooring specialist Flowcrete created a bespoke flooring system to provide an attractive, non-slip surround for swimming pools at HSBC Bank’s residential properties in the exclusive Peak district of Hong Kong.
Designers at leading architects EC Harris sought a safe floor finish for the pool surrounds surfaces with a natural look that could also be installed quickly at several of the Bank’s properties.
Flowcrete proposed the Rustik UV system comprising of natural stone encapsulated in a clear UV resistant binder that could withstand the harsh sunlight. The seamless surface is pleasant and safe to walk and play on while facilitating easy cleaning and maintenance.
According to Mr Goufree Lau, Senior Project Manager at EC Harris, the Flowcrete flooring solution met their requirements at a number of levels including having the system formulated in a special colour.
The work was carried out by Flowcrete’s approved installer in Hong Kong, A.S.T.E.L. (Advanced Specialist Treatment Engineering Limited). Additionally, the Rustik UV flooring system was also installed on the driveway at the residence of one of the Bank’s top management.
Flowcrete Hong Kong Managing Director Alan Blay explains that the flexibility of their specialist seamless non slip flooring systems allowed them to create a bespoke solution by building on an existing formulation to meet the unique needs of the Bank’s application.
The Flowcrete Rustik UV system has since been specified by EC Harris for a prestigious project in the same residential district.
