Eco Flooring Systems - Bamboo Flooring  was one of the suppliers during the construction of the new Mabel Fidler Building for the Ravenswood School for Girls (NSW).

The highly innovative design by BVN Architects incorporates a number of unusual technical architectural elements including a vented façade made of a mixture of polycarbonate and curtain walling. The vented cavity heats up in summer and is vented through the capping activated by sensors.

The 6,500m² project comprises of three buildings linked together via walkways whilst connecting into the existing school buildings. The structure to building ‘A’ involves three cantilevered slabs spanning 13 metres, which are supported by the structural steel roof trusses.

The interior fit-out involved a mixture of plywoods, ceilings and linings, laminated glazing, plywood reveals, bamboo flooring and joinery. The architects selected a natural coloured strand woven bamboo flooring, which was supplied by Eco Flooring Systems and installed by SE Timber Floors. Eco Flooring Systems supplied the bamboo floors with matching customised strand woven stair treads.
