Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers were installed in 60 bathrooms on the University of Western Australia (UWA) campus in Perth to replace paper towels.

A globally acclaimed campus, UWA is open to over 25,000 students as well as the public, resulting in a high footfall in their bathrooms. The use of paper towels in combination with a few hand dryers led to considerable mess and complaints.

The university also had to deal with the high recurring cost of hand towels across all campus bathrooms.

Engaged for the UWA upgrade, Ferguson Architects recommended the Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers for installation across all the 60 bathrooms, due to their combined water tap and hand dryer capabilities.

"Getting rid of paper towels has helped reduce waste, decreased costs and makes UWA even more sustainable and environmentally friendly," says Beau Ruthofer, UWA Campus Management.
