Architectural professionals from across Australia are encouraged to
apply for one of five exclusive spots available on the 2015 Dulux Study Tour.
Now in its eighth year, the Dulux Study Tour is a coveted program that
inspires and fosters Australia’s next generation of emerging architectural
talent. The 2015 edition will take selected participants to Tokyo, Paris and
London, where they will experience firsthand some of the world’s best
architectural sites and practices.
Entry into the 2015 Dulux Study Tour is a two-stage process, with the
first stage requiring entrants to answer four questions that will determine a
shortlist. The shortlisted entrants will be notified to enter the second stage,
where a more detailed response covering recent work needs to be submitted. A
judging panel will then select the 2015 Dulux Study Tour recipients.
According to Dulux General Manager – Trade Division, Phil White, the Dulux
Study Tour gives Australian architects exclusive access to some of the world’s
greatest minds within the industry, enabling them to apply their learnings and
observations to the work they do in Australia.
The five winners of the 2014 study tour spent 10 days visiting leading
global architecture and design firms in Chicago and New York.
2014 Dulux Study Tour recipient, Michael Zanardo said his visit to Chicago
and New York increased his knowledge of urban design and housing, and believes
that the time he spent with architects, the expertise they shared with the
group, as well as the exposure to old and new buildings will provide ongoing
inspiration for his work for years to come.
All architects and graduates of architecture up to 10 years from
graduation from the tier-two or five-year Bachelor of Architecture degrees are
eligible to enter the 2015 Dulux Study Tour.
Stage one entries are open until Thursday 18 September 2014 with
the shortlist to be announced on Thursday 9 October 2014. Stage two closes
Friday 7 November 2014 and the five successful recipients of the 2015 Dulux
Study Tour will be announced at the Australian Architecture Achievement Awards
in March 2015.
The Dulux Study Tour is a collaborative initiative between Dulux, the
Australian Institute of Architects and EmAGN. The 2015 tour will take place
from Friday 22 May 2015 to Tuesday 2 June 2015.
