Celebrate colour once again with the 32nd annual Dulux Colour Awards now open for entry. The 2018 edition of the prestigious awards program invites architects, designers, stylists and students to submit work that showcases their creative and innovative use of colour across commercial and residential spaces. Entrants are required to illustrate their artistic and professional skill, by documenting how a space can be transformed and enhanced using the extensive Dulux colour collection.

The 2018 Dulux Colour Awards, which opened for entry on Tuesday 19 December 2017, will accept submissions until Monday 26 February 2018 across the following nine categories: Commercial Interior – Workplace & Retail; Commercial Interior – Public Spaces & Hospitality; Commercial Exterior; Single Residential Interior; Single Residential Exterior; Multi Residential Interior; Multi Residential Exterior; International; and Student. The finalists will be announced on Thursday 22 March 2018.

Andrea Lucena-Orr, Colour Planning & Communications Manager for Dulux, says that Dulux is expecting to see projects this year that use colour innovatively to accentuate and stimulate interior and exterior design spaces.

Given the passion for colour across Australia and New Zealand, Dulux is confident that this year’s program will see entries that understand not just how colour is used, but also how colour is considered and balanced in every submission, she said.

Andrea added that the awards give architects and designers the opportunity to showcase their colour vision, be it through incorporating current colour trends or setting the scene for the future of colour.

Individual category winners and the Grand Prix winner will be selected by an esteemed panel of leading names from Australia and New Zealand’s architecture, design and creative industry.

Each category winner will receive prize money, with all winning entries, except for the Student category to be considered for the Grand Prix title. This year’s Grand Prix winner will be awarded AUD$5,000 while the eight category winners will receive AUD$1,000 each, and the Student category winner will be given AUD$500.

The 32nd Dulux Colour Awards winners will be announced and celebrated at a gala function in Melbourne at the iconic National Gallery of Victoria on 10 May 2018. The event will be hosted by award-winning architect and host of Grand Designs Australia, Peter Maddison.
