Series RL3000 high speed roll doors from DMF International were installed in an unusual application under a mezzanine flooring structure to create a sealed working area.

The client, a manufacturer of speciality safety equipment and fast print safety signs, wanted to create a sealed area under the mezzanine floor to house specialised printing equipment. A solution was sought that would not only allow the sealed work area to be accessed easily, but also minimise entry of dust to protect the environment and equipment.

DMF designed, modified, and installed three units of Series RL3000 high speed roll doors, with the drive roller system being housed behind the front structural purlin, resulting in a very neat finished door system. Specially fabricated and powder-coated infills were used to enclose the open spaces remaining on each side of the doors.

Key features of these customised rapid roll doors included 5m width to allow movement of large products in and out of the printing area; pushbutton activation for simple operation; and integrated safety sensors.

Operations Manager at the facility David Kuo said the doors were a great solution and he was very happy with the result, and final appearance.

DMF manufactures these specialised high speed doors to size in Sydney, with clients offered various customisation options to suit demanding applications.
