Diversified Communications Australia, organisers of the long running DesignBUILD and Total Facilities events, has announced a new platform to promote and support the recovery of the Australian construction industry following the effects of COVID-19 on the entire built environment community.

The new Built Environment Summit (Be Summit) seeks to promote innovation, policy debate and connectivity for the industry and is a timely entry into the market with construction and infrastructure investment set to drive Australia’s economic recovery at all levels of government and business.

“The Australian construction sector makes up nine percent of Australia’s GDP and generates more than $360 billion in revenue each year,” says James Laing, Be Summit Event Manager.

As a key driver of the economy, it is imperative that top-level decision-makers have a platform to better understand the short, medium and long term impacts for the broad spectrum of industries that collectively make up the built environment sector,” he adds.

The Be Summit will be a one-day virtual event, this year the event is proud to have NBS as the headline sponsor, NBS is a global leading technology platform that combines the best content and connectivity for anyone involved in the design, supply and construction of the built environment.

The Be Summit includes a keynote address from Victorian State Treasurer, Tim Pallas MP. The Treasurer, in conversation with author, editor and political commentator, Jamila Rizvi, will update participants on the Victorian Government’s commitment to supporting the built environment sector, including any amendments to the previously announced $2.7 billion construction stimulus package, for projects in the next one to six months.

Following the Ministerial Address, participants will hear from industry panelists including in-depth analysis of the current economic trends from long-term Diversified Communications partner, the Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF) who will use the Summit to discuss their latest construction forecast.

The Summit will conclude with an inter-disciplinary panel with representatives from the building, construction, property investment, and management sectors.

The Be Summit will take place on the 20 October 2020 and is open to all senior professionals within the built environment. To register free for the event click here. You can keep updated with the latest event news, follow the Be Summit on LinkedInTwitter & Facebook.
