To meet the special safety requirements of today’s secondary and tertiary schooling sector, Dickson have created two fire resistant fabrics suitable for use in educational institutions as gymnasium and stage curtains; Cuba and Santorin.

Cuba fire resistant fabric is best used for gymnasium curtains. It places emphasis on choice and contemporary colours, and it's weave and cotton/denim look give it a designer-style appearance.

Made from permanently flame-retardant polyester fibres, Cuba fire resistant fabric complies with European fire resistance standards. To cope with the harsh Australian sun, Cuba fire resistant fabric also acts as an effective shading fabric, filtering sunlight to limit dazzle indoors.

It's 280cm width is ideal for reverse working, avoiding the need for seams when constructing the gymnasium curtain, and is also machine washable at 40°C.

Ideal for both gymnasium and stage curtains, Santorin fire resistant fabric is a dense and soft fabric with light blocking qualities. It has a smooth, satin look that makes it hang well, an ideal quality in a stage curtain fabric.

Like Cuba, Santorin fire resistant fabric is made from permanently flame-retardant polyester fibres and complies with European fire resistance standards. It also reduces indoor dazzle, guaranteeing evening privacy and enjoyable interior lighting.

Easy to maintain, Santorin fire resistant fabric is machine washable at 60°C, and machine dryable, making it ideal for making netting, curtains, drapes and indoor blinds.

Santorin fire resistant fabric is available in two widths, 140cm and 280cm, for maximum ease of use.

Both Cuba and Santorin fire resistant fabrics are also suitable for the construction of:

  • curtain hangings
  • interior blinds
  • wall covering; and
  • bed covers.
