Benjamin Hubert’s Pod privacy chair will be showcased at the designEX 2012, which will be held at the Sydney Convention Centre from 14th May to 16th May 2012.

London-based Hubert specialises in industrial design across furniture and lighting sectors, working with international manufacturers in Europe and Asia. Material driven design, wherein ideas are born from a material or production technique is a key focus area in his studio.

Ideal for breakout areas in offices or residential spaces, the Pod privacy chair's ergonomics allow the user to work comfortably in a relaxed environment. The perimeter of the chair surrounds the occupant’s head making it akin to a little room-in-room solution.

The Pod chair features a large shell made using pressed PET felt technology, which produces a distinctive aesthetic while also offering sound dampening properties to increase the sensation of privacy.

Sustainability being an integral part of each project, the Pod privacy chair also features an environment-friendly design with the material sourced from recycled plastic bottles and the stackable design allowing easy storage and transport.

The Pod privacy chair will be displayed at Stand 512 at designEX , Australasia’s premier design forum for the interiors, architecture and design industries. Now in its 24th year, the iconic event celebrates the best in product design, technology and innovation.
