Designers, builders, architects and industry trades and professionals in Perth who attended the DesignBUILD Commercial expo at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre over the past few days are now up to date on the latest industry trends, news and regulations.
DesignBUILD Commercial is presented in Perth every second year and this year the expo attracted more 100 exhibitors and has been opened to industry trades and professionals since Wednesday morning.
SIPS Industries Insulated Panels were named for the Best New Product, while runners up included Garantia, Composite Materials Australia and Vacuum Toilets Australia.
Danielle Fischer, Exhibition Director, explained that the Perth show had been a success, particularly the seminar series and the late night opening on Thursday night.
“All of the seminars were presented by leading industry speakers and were also accredited with CPD points.
“In many of the seminars we had to put in extra chairs, which is a great sign for the consumers of Perth as it means their local design, building and construction industry professionals are committed to delivering market leading products and services.
“DesignBUILD was also open until 8pm on Thursday to give busy trades and professionals a chance to come along and it was great to see so many visitors make the most of the extended hours.
“The feedback so far from exhibitors is that the Perth tradies and professionals have been really interested in understanding how the new products work, while there has been plenty of discussion on sustainable building practices with visitors keen to understand exactly how a product is classified as ‘green’.
She concluded by saying that it was fantastic to see such a strong local commitment to introducing and increasing awareness of better building practices, and that they look forward to returning the expo in the future.
The next DesignBUILD Expo will open at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre from Wednesday 11 May – Friday 13 May 2011 and will return to Perth again in 2012.
