DecoDeck, the revolutionary timber-look aluminium decking system from DECO Australia was honoured at the 2020 Australian Good Design Awards. DecoDeck received the award in the Product Design Hardware and Building category, which celebrates innovative and impactful designs for the architectural market.
The Good Design Awards, which began in 1958, represent Australia’s most renowned annual international awards program for design and innovation. The awards celebrate the best new products in the market, with the jury evaluating entries based on their design, innovative features and impact on their target segment.
DecoDeck is a powdercoated aluminium decking system, which combines the form, feel and appearance of natural timber with the longevity and durability of aluminium. Finished in DECO Australia’s Super Durable sublimated timber grain finish, DecoWood, this decking system eliminates common issues associated with natural timber caused by exposure to salt, sun and moisture as well as ongoing maintenance, retaining its stunning appearance even in the harsh Australian conditions. DecoDeck is available in a wide range of timber grain finishes that replicate popular timber species. DECO’s low maintenance alternative to timber decking will not rot, warp or require re-staining or oiling.
Made from 100% non-combustible aluminium, DecoDeck also offers a fire-safe decking solution for bushfire areas, in compliance with Australian Standards AS 1530.1 and AS 1530.3. With a corrosion-resistant, weather-resistant and slip-resistant finish, DecoDeck is an excellent option for waterfront decks and decking in coastal homes. DecoDeck’s slip-resistant coating achieves a P4 slip rating, making it suitable for pool decks and coastal walkways. The decking system is available in two width profiles.

The Good Design Awards Jury praised DecoDeck as a “very innovative locking system that has been cleverly designed and helps elevate this product in the market.
