Dadanco , a company that has pioneered the development of revolutionary air conditioning technology, has appointed Mr Ian Webber AO as its Chairman, following a major injection of capital into the company to allow it to expand its rapidly growing global market base.

A former Managing Director of Chrysler Australia Limited, Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited, and former Chairman of Mayne Nickless Limited, Mr. Webber is also a Director of Santos Limited, WMC Limited, and is a member of the General Motors Australian Advisory Council.

Dadanco technology can improve the capacity of existing induction air conditioning systems by up to 50%, dramatically lower air-conditioning background noise, reduce maintenance and running costs, and lower environmental impact through significantly lower energy usage.

Originally developed at the Adelaide University, the technology is attracting worldwide interest. Commercialised by Dadanco in 1995, the technology has been installed in major high-rise buildings in Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, and the United Kingdom. Dadanco has offices in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Mr Webber said Dadanco had developed “very elegant technology” which was already having a major impact on the performance and quality of air conditioning systems both here and overseas.

"I believe that the real future growth area for this technology is the bigger, international markets that suffer from exactly the same issues and demands that we have in Australia," he said.

"The Australian market has been very important to Dadanco, as it has enabled the company to cut its teeth on significant projects. As a result, Dadanco has become well known and respected by the consulting profession and building owners.

"There is a huge opportunity for Dadanco's air conditioning system solutions to help new and refurbished buildings achieve the highest energy efficiency and indoor air quality standards. Internationally, that market is vast."
