Cemintel recently launched a pre-finished lightweight walling solution, the Designer Series. The new wall panels represent an exciting new phase in the Australian residential market and are set to push the boundaries of design trends and building practices and changing the face of building.
Cemintel’s Designer Series is an innovative range of pre-finished panels that are available in a wide range of modern textures and colours. The walling offers solutions for various facade applications, from two storey designs and feature walls to the entire home. It can also be used as a practical option to traditional construction materials, or to complement existing finishes.
Cemintel Designer pre-finished facade panels are not just lightweight and durable; they also feature a unique and innovative fixing system which helps to reduce installation time, which is a key selling point when working with builders.
There are five different styles of textured panels in the Designer Series;
- Woodgrain; and
By using this textured walling solution, designers and builders now have the option to easily tailor and differentiate their building designs, whether they wish to achieve a bold and striking look, or to use a product which will complement and blend in with the remaining materials of the house.
The launch of the product range is yet another example of Cemintel Fibre Cement Systems , part of the CSR family of building product companies, providing innovation through design.
Drew Spiden, Cemintel General Manager, says, “By international standards, Australia is traditionally a brick market, however there continues to be a strong move towards a greater use of different materials on the exterior of homes. We believe that fibre cement is an ideal product to take advantage of this trend.”
NSW based architect Steven Isaacs, of Architecture Saville Isaacs, agrees and says, “‘Good environmental design as well as cost effectiveness are increasing the move in Australia to lightweight walling solutions for residential building facades. Fibre cement based cladding products are an obvious choice, so we are very excited by the direction Cemintel has taken with the Designer Series.”
Drew Spiden added, “Builders and consumers want to create a point of difference, and the new Designer Series range of products will allow them to do this by providing a series of unique finishes, which will ultimately change the face of building in Australia.”
With a unique fixing system, the new wall panels help to save on installation time. It is a two man job involving 3m pre-finished panels, and is simple enough to use and install that it can be fitted by a carpenter, eliminating the need for additional tradesmen on site.
A dedicated website provides interactive tools to assist designers, builders and consumers alike in selecting a Designer Series panel to suit their design. The online visualiser will also enable people to mix and match a variety of housing styles with different Designer Series finishes to create the look they want.
