Kobelco Construction Machinery Co. Japan, has announced intended changes to its distribution arrangements in Australia.
Mr. Yuzuru Ieki, Director & Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Sales and Marketing for Kobelco Japan, announced that Kobelco will distribute the Kobelco branded product through its own company – Kobelco CNH Australia, replacing Melroad as the distributor. However, it is intended that Melroad will remain a dealer at its current owned outlets of Melbourne and Sydney. Kobelco has taken this action to capitalise on the synergies of its wholly owned Australian company, Kobelco CNH Australia (KCNHA).
Melroad and Kobelco have agreed transitional arrangements to ensure full support continues for its customers, particularly in service, warranty and parts supply. Kobelco customers will continue to deal with their supplying Dealer without any change until further notice.
This move will combine all three brands of the Global Alliance between Kobelco Japan and CNH Global under the one company in Australia and these brands - Case , New Holland and Kobelco - will maintain separate support structures and distribution networks.
This move will bring long term security to all three brands and utilise the synergies and expertise of Kobelco CNH Australia to benefit all customers of these brands.
Kobelco Construction Machinery would like to recognise the success of Melroad over their eleven year period as distributor for Kobelco. Owned by husband and wife Phil and Lynne Lellman, they have done an excellent job of building up the brand to the level of success it enjoys today and which Kobelco intends to maintain and grow.
