Renowned architects, Harry Seidler & Associates, and respected bathroomware manufacturer Caroma Industries Limited, have collaborated to create an exclusive range for Brisbane’s landmark Riparian Plaza, due to open this month.

The Seidler V-Line Series is a result of a seven year commitment between the two companies to present an innovative wall-hung bathroomware collection for the luxury end of the market. The range was designed by Henry Feiner, Partner at Harry Seidler & Associates, renowned for his expertise in office tower planning, avant-guarde construction and interior and glass technologies.

Feiner states, “The range introduces a square design, which is mounted and cantilevered from the wall. The rectilinear design and tapered angles create the signature V-Line across the range. At the time of design all other bathroomware was curved. This was the first square, angular design. Structurally, however, this new range was very difficult to produce.”

Initially designed for the international market, Seidler was the first to introduce the square contours to bathroomware now so popular in contemporary bathroom design, according to Caroma. Since the design was unveiled seven years ago at numerous international design shows, attempts to replicate the square shape of the Seidler V-Line series have been made globally. Due to the inherent difficulties in the vitreous china firing process, however, these attempts are unable to claim the design or engineering standard achieved by Seidler and Caroma Industries for the V-Line Series – it remains revolutionary in both design and installation.

The 52 luxury apartments, offices, and restaurants that make up Riparian Plaza, Brisbane’s tallest building, will be fitted out exclusively with the V-Line Series and will be the first in the world to boast the innovative range. Caroma Industries will release the Seidler V-Line Series to the commercial market in 2006.
